Description:
I discovered this recipe in a cookbook last year and I love it, although it has been around forever in Lebanon, I've never had it or even heard of it!!
This is a main dish served with rice.

Ingredients:
1 400 gms bag of prepared frozen artichoke, or prepare fresh ones.
1 onion cut long
1 clove garlic sliced (optional)
Oil and butter
400 gms boneless leg of lamb or beef cubes.
1-1/2 Tbs flour
Lemon juice to taste
Salt and white pepper
Water
Chopped parsley to serve

Directions:
In a saucepan saute onion in butter and oil, when transperent add garlic and meat and brown on all sides, sprinkle with flour and stir around briefly then add water gradually stirring till flour dissolves and you have some sauce.
Season with salt, pepper and lemon juice, cover and cook till meat is tender topping up with water every now and then, the sauce should be comfortably sour.
Cut artichoke cups in half and add, simmer till done, serve sprinkled with parsley
